WoodWelding® Technology
Ultrasound welding: cost efficient, fast and strong alternative to traditional fixation methods
What is WoodWelding®?
WoodWelding® is an alternative fastening solution on basis of ultrasound welding to standard methods like wooden dowel joins. The Swiss company WW WoodWelding GmbH developed the fastening solution.
What happens during the WoodWelding® process?
The proprietary WoodWelding® fastening principle uses polymeric fixation elements, for example in the form of dowels, which are ultrasonically liquefied to generate a form-fit connection with a porous substrate material (for example wood, lightweight panels).
What is the WoodWelding® technology used?
The WoodWelding® technology is particularly well-suited for the furniture production as well as for interior finishing for the Caravan/RV industry.
This video shows how the WoodWelding® technology in combination with Würth COLDMELT® dowels can be integrated efficiently in your production.
What are the advantages of the WoodWelding® technology?
- cost efficient, fast and strong alternative to traditional fixation methods such as nails, screws, or glues and adhesives
- strong and stable fastening
- Fastening compensates tolerances
- Fastenings are flexible in design
Automated quality control with the SmartSolutions Software
Especially for the automated production of furniture components with the WoodWelding® technology, the quality control of the welded joint is of high importance. Pull-out force and the visual appearance have to be controlled regularly and waste parts need to be detected and sorted out easily. Thanks to the SmartSolutions Software the quality control now is integrated into the automated production process. The patented software collects and analyses all data that contains information about the fastening quality during the WoodWelding® process and processes them in order to precisely predict performance characteristics of the connection.
