New development: Dowel sensor with Rechner Sensoren

Our development laboratory has been given the task of developing an integrated quality control in the dowel insertion system that reduces machine downtimes due to dowel malfunctions.

In collaboration with Rechner Sensoren, we then tackled the following problem: How can it be detected whether a dowel is in the hose or not before the workpiece is processed?

Solution: Together with Rechner Sensoren, we developed a sensor that detects through the dowel tube whether or not there is a dowel in the system. In order to be able to attach the sensor optimally to the dowel tube, we have developed a bracket-shaped holder especially for this purpose. This ensures that the sensor is decoupled and can detect the dowels without an opening in the hose. The system is also protected from dust and dirt, making it particularly easy to maintain. The dowel sensor is already used in this way in KOCH machines that drive in IKEA WedgeDowels. We are now also testing the system for use with wooden dowels.
